CHILDREN: Quotes, the brain and development
I would just like to share a few quotes about children that I really like:We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher
A child can ask questions that a wise man cannot answer. ~Author Unknown
A three year old child is a being who gets almost as much fun out of a fifty-six dollar set of swings as it does out of finding a small green worm. ~Bill Vaughan
Also, I found a video about early child development, particularly on brain development, language acquisition and its impact on society. In this video, a well-known researcher and brain expert, Dr. Pat Kuhl, gave the lecture. You may may watch the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fcb8nT0QC6o

Elizabeth,
I love your first quote. It is very powerful. It is often stated that children are the future, but children are never appreciated for the gift that they bestow upon us presently; they are only appreciated as gifts that revolutionize the future.
Hi Elizabeth,
I love your quotes, especially your last one about children who love everything from a swing set to a worm. How many birthdays and Christmases do I remember that my kids were happy with the box their toys came in?? Oh the innocence of childhood!
Elizabeth,
I agree that we have to focus on the child today. You have posted an inspirational quote that made me think about how we address children in education. Too often the focus in on what they will become instead of what they are now. Thank you.
Great quotes. I really enjoyed reading your blogs and your posts and I hope you have a very nice short break and will see you in our next class :)
Elizabeth,
I enjoyed your quotes about children. Your second quote about a child asking questions is powerful to me. Here is a young child that in many ways is truly smarter than a wise man. Love the irony of the quote.
Thanks every one! Hope to see you again in teh classroom!
